Growing Aids
- Polymer - an organic polymer
designed to improve the capability of soils to hold water. These
crystals swell, absorbing 200 times their weight. When
added to soil or other potting media, plant roots grow through the
polymers and extract stored water and nutrients as needed. Directions
are available.
- Fertilizer Tablets - Combination of
20-10-5 and are a 10 gram
tablet. Use one per woody or herbaceous plant of 6 to 10 inches
in height. No additional plant food should be necessary for 2
years. If you do not have an irrigation system, you may want to break
up the tablet before placing in the ground.
These are sold in packages of 50 count, unless you order them with your tree order. In that case, you can order the exact amount you want for $0.10 each and we will custom package it for you at no charge.
- Weed Barrier - allows water to
penetrate but prevents weed growth. UV resistant.
- Rodent Guards and Stakes - These plastic nets protect seedlings, are about 16" tall, and protect a plant for two to three growing seasons. Each plastic net comes with two bamboo stakes. Directions for use are available on this page.
